jesus was a good man

Jesus lived the life of a good man. Not just good, but perfect—without sin. Historically he is known inside and outside the Bible as a good moral teacher, a miracle performer, a lover of humanity. Jesus embodied everything we would consider good and beautiful as a human. Jesus lived the life of perfection that we could not live and died a horrific death on a cross that we deserved due to our sin. This death satisfied the demand of God's law, making it possible for man and God to be reconciled. Three days after this perfect man's death, he (Jesus) rose victorious over sin, Satan and death. But was Jesus just a good man? No, he is God

JESUS IS GOD.

God came to rescue us. This was not to rescue us from our humanity but to rescue us from our sinfulness. God became man—Jesus. Prolific author CS Lewis said it like this: "Lying at your feet is your dog. Imagine, for the moment, that your dog and every dog is in deep distress. Some of us love dogs very much. If it would help all the dogs in the world to become like men, would you be willing to become a dog? Would you put down your human nature, leave your loved ones, your job, hobbies, your art and literature and music, and choose instead of the intimate communion with your beloved, the poor substitute of looking into the beloved's face and wagging your tail, unable to smile or speak? By becoming man Christ limited the thing that was the most precious thing in the world to Him: his unhampered, unhindered communion with the Father." Jesus is, and always has been God. He has no beginning nor end. The Bible states that he was with God and he was God before the foundations of the earth were created. In order to truly reconcile us to God, Jesus had to come and bear the weight of our sinfulness. This is comforting because we have a God who sympathizes with our weakness, our struggles and our pain, yet without sin.

Jesus is available to all that would come to him.
